CSI Maimi opening

The camera work in the opening uses many different types of camera actions, The camera pans from left to right to go with the editing in the opening there are two main long shots that Establish the surrounding area of Miami which is a mix between a city scene and a beach scene, Also there are a lot of close ups of characters to tell the audience that these are the most important character in the show, The opening title is set like a montage with many small clips of the landscape and main characters plus it also shows many items such as computers and guns to show that this is an action show. With the cut between the changing of the characters and scenes it doesn’t fade out it slides across the scene.
There is quite a lot of Editing used in the opening there are a lot of jump cuts That introduce a new character every 2 seconds Which also has a wipe edit Over it as other items move over the scene but are slightly more faded than the original picture.
From the opening we can see many props such as guns, police badges and science testing equipment which shows that this is a police crime genre, The costumes and hair is done to resemble this time period (2010) as opposed to wearing old fashioned closed, It gives us an idea of the time period. Many of the facial expression are serious to show that they are trying to do their jobs which add suspense and makes the audience want to watch it, The lighting used is low key lighting because you can see There face but there is a harsh shadow on one side Which could show a dark side of a subplot in the story, The colours are mostly warm colours as to portray that it is Miami and that it is warm unlike its other series csi new York were the colours are more dull. Most of the characters are positioned in the middle of the frame showing they have a main role in the story.
In the opening there is no speech at all it is only fast upbeat music, which is a song shortened to go with the opening the song used was The who Teenage wasteland which went well with video montage because it gets people ready to watch unlike a dull sad opening Which might turn people off from watching it.    
this relates to our opening of our flim becouse we might use some of the ways they use there titiles in the opening  and the way they use there quick cuts to show more items in the opening instead of seeing the whole thing.
